The Port of Poti is a major hub for ocean transportation in the region, providing access to the Caucasus and Central Asia. The port of Poti handles various types of cargo, including containers, dry bulk goods, and liquid bulk. The port has recently undergone modernisation and expansion to increase its capacity and competitiveness in the region. It is connected to the national road and railway network for easy access to the hinterland.

სოფლის მეურნეობის სამინისტროს ინფორმაციით, 2021 წლის 1 აგვისტოდან 2022 წლის 16 იანვრის ჩათვლით საქართველოდან 18.2 ათასი ტონა თხილის ექსპორტი განხორციელდა, რომლის ღირებულებამ 83.2 მლნ აშშ დოლარი შეადგინა. 2020 წლის ანალოგიურ პერიოდთან შედარებით, ექსპორტირებული თხილის მოცულობა 3.9 ათასი ტონით (28%), ხოლო ღირებულება 8.1 მლნ აშშ დოლარით (11%) გაიზარდა. ქართული თხილის ექსპორტი, ძირითადად, ევროკავშირის ბაზრებზე ხორციელდება - იტალიაში (7 511 ტონა), გერმანიაში (3 523 ტონა), ესპანეთში (500 ტონა), ჩეხეთში (445 ტონა), პოლონეთში (357 ტონა), ლიეტუვაში (327 ტონა), საფრანგეთში (327 ტონა) და სხვა. ასევე სომხეთში (1 265 ტონა), ჩინეთში (785 ტონა), რუსეთში (400 ტონა), უკრაინაში (302 ტონა), საუდის არაბეთში (301 ტონა), ალჟირში (241 ტონა) და სხვა.

Due to heavy storm (gale: 4-5 points) previous days port Poti was closed for navigation of vessels from 3:30pm December of 30th until 8:30am January of 1st, from 3:00pm January of 2nd until 6:40am January of 3rd and from 3:10pm January of 4th until 4:30am January of 5th.
