We have received news that the container ship MAREN has run aground on the Turkish coast in the Black Sea, west of Sinop. According to reports, the incident occurred at around 2320-2330 UTC on April 1, 2023, while the ship was en route from Piraeus to Poti, Georgia.

It appears that the ship's rudder was locked due to some kind of failure, leading to the grounding. As of 0415 UTC on April 2, the ship was still aground, but a tugboat had reportedly been dispatched to assist.

We hope that the situation can be resolved quickly. We will provide updates as we receive them.
