Five times less transit time and the first carried out shipment from China to Georgia by means of rail transport.
The cargo was loaded in China on January 29, 2015 and unloaded – on February 6, 2015 in Georgia. The project was carried out in co-operation with the Railways of Georgia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and the Province of China - Xinjiang.
The mentioned rail route acts as an alternative for existing sea freight, which enables the cargo from China to be delivered to the Black Sea ports of Georgia without any delay in extremely short period. The transit time is reduced five times over in comparison with sea haulage. It takes 40-45 days by sea, while the freight by rail from China to Georgia arrives within 9 days.
